Ukrainian Defense Forces Likely Struck Borisoglebsk Air Base With Missiles
On the evening of October 14, the Ukrainian Defense Forces likely struck Russia’s Borisoglebsk military air base in the Voronezh region with missiles. Witnesses reported a large fire following the attack.
The monitoring channel Exilenova+ reported the incident.
Voronezh region Governor Alexandr Gusev declared a missile alert at 9:54 p.m. local time and urged residents to stay in shelters.
Following the alert, reports of explosions and a large fire emerged from the region.
Monitoring channels published videos showing a blaze. However, the exact location of the fire and any possible damage to air base facilities have yet to be confirmed.
Borisoglebsk Air Base
The air base is home to the 783rd Training Aviation Center and units of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ 105th Guards Mixed Aviation Division, which operates Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-30SM aircraft.
The training center also operates Yak-130 trainer and combat aircraft.
According to satellite observations, the air base had no combat aircraft permanently stationed there in the summer of 2026. It was used mainly as a temporary stop for refueling and rearming aircraft involved in strikes against Ukraine.
Militarnyi previously reported that Ukrainian strike drones attacked Borisoglebsk military air base on the night of July 8, 2026, sparking a fire at the site.

Satellite imagery later confirmed the destruction of a fuel and lubricants storage facility.
Before that attack, the air base hosted seven Su-35 fighter jets, eight Yak-130 trainer and combat aircraft, two Mi-8 helicopters, and one Mi-26.
On July 5, 2025, Ukrainian drones also attacked the Borisoglebsk Training Aviation Center and military air base. At the time, NASA’s FIRMS satellite monitoring system detected a thermal anomaly at the airfield, indicating a possible fire.
