Ukrainian Navy Hit Six Su-34M Bombers at Borisoglebsk Air Base With Neptune Missiles
The Ukrainian Naval Forces struck Borisoglebsk military air base in Russia’s Voronezh region with Neptune missiles overnight on October 15, hitting six Su-34M bombers.
The Ukrainian Navy’s press service reported the strike.
The attack also destroyed ground equipment used to support aircraft operations. Secondary detonations and a fire were reported at the airfield. The military agency said it is still assessing the strike’s results.
The Su-34M is an upgraded version of Russia’s Su-34 frontline bomber. Aircraft of this type can carry guided and high-explosive bombs, as well as multi-purpose missiles.

Russian forces extensively use Su-34 aircraft to strike Ukrainian Defense Forces positions and frontline settlements with guided aerial bombs. These munitions let the aircraft strike targets without entering the engagement range of some Ukrainian air defense systems.
The 783rd Training Aviation Center, which operates Yak-130 trainer aircraft, is based at Borisoglebsk air base. Russian combat aviation has also used the airfield.

Militarnyi previously reported that a missile alert was declared in the Borisoglebsk area on the evening of October 14.
