Russians Develop Group Deployment System for Supercam Kamikaze Drones

Russia has developed a system that enables coordinated group use of strike drones based on Supercam reconnaissance drones.

According to the state corporation Rostec, the upgraded drones feature enhanced data transmission systems that allow them to automatically share information about detected targets within a unified network.

According to available data, the system has already undergone preliminary field testing. During the trials, a group of drones operated in search mode, patrolling a designated area.

Once a target was detected, one drone transmitted its coordinates to the others in the group.

After operator confirmation, the target was struck in a coordinated attack by multiple drones simultaneously. It is claimed that within this concept, a single operator can control up to ten kamikaze drones.

In addition, the system uses elements of neural network processing, which enable automatic target recognition, task distribution among drones, determination of attack sequence, and assignment of a drone for objective monitoring of strike results.

Russian sources claim that this technology could, in the future, improve the ability to overcome air defense systems and enable concentrated strikes on complex targets.

Supercam

Supercam is a family of Russian tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and fire adjustment. The developer is Unmanned Systems Group.

These drones belong to the medium-range drone class and use a flying-wing aerodynamic design. They are launched via catapult and land either by parachute or in a conventional aircraft-style landing, depending on the modification.

The most common version is the Supercam S350, which can remain airborne for 4–5 hours and operate at distances of 100–120 km from the control station.

The drone is equipped with optical-electronic and infrared cameras, allowing for both daytime and nighttime surveillance.
