Ukrainian Defense Forces Eliminate Russian Major General Gudkov
The Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized Major General Mikhail Gudkov, who was the deputy commander of the Russian Navy.
Several pro-Kremlin Telegram channels reported this on July 2.
Gudkov was responsible for the actions of the Russian naval infantry in the war against Ukraine.
The exact circumstances of his elimination are currently unknown; the Russians only stated that he “died on the front line.”
However, in some communities linked to the Russian army, it was reported that he, along with other senior officers, died as a result of a strike on an advanced command post, likely in the Kursk region.
Since February 24, 2022, Gudkov has participated in the war against Ukraine. He was the commander of the 155th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade of the Russian Pacific Fleet, which is known for its war crimes.
The brigade’s units were redeployed to the Kursk region after the start of the Defense Forces of Ukraine’s operation in that area.
In March of this year, Gudkov was appointed deputy commander of the Russian Navy.
