UAVs Strike Kotelnikovo Railway Station in Volgograd Region
A fire broke out near the railway station in the Russian city of Kotelnikovo, Volgograd region, following an overnight drone strike.
Telegram channels and open-source intelligence (OSINT) sources reported on this.
The blaze affected parts of the railway infrastructure, including tracks and an electrical substation. Footage shared by local residents appears to confirm the damage.
Train traffic has been restricted and part of the line has been left without power, according to regional governor Andrey Bocharov, as reported by Astra.
“Last night, Russian air defense forces repelled a massive UAV attack targeting transport and energy infrastructure in the Volgograd region. There were no casualties. A grass fire was recorded in the Surovikino district and is being promptly extinguished by firefighting services. In the Kotyelnikovsky district, gas supply was disrupted to about 65 private households; specialists are working to eliminate the consequences. To remove UAV debris located on the railway tracks, train traffic has been temporarily limited near the Tinguta station in the Svetloyarsky district, and sappers are on site. No damage to the railway itself has been reported,” the governor wrote.

OSINT researcher Tatarigami_UA noted multiple heat signatures from fires detected by NASA satellites in the area of the Kotelnikovo railway station following the overnight UAV attack.
In the early hours of July 29, strike drones targeted a fuel train at a major railway junction in the city of Salsk, Rostov region. Local residents reported a large fire breaking out at the site.
