The U.S. Department of State has approved a potential sale to Ukraine of the HAWK Phase III air defense system and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, along with related maintenance and support.

The announcement was made on July 23 on the website of the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

The combined value of the two packages is estimated at approximately $322 million.

Specifically, the HAWK Phase III system, along with its maintenance, associated equipment, and training, could cost up to $172 million.

This package includes the delivery to Ukraine of:

• Trucks and spare parts for the HAWK system;
• Repair and overhaul of launchers and tool kits;
• Support equipment;
• Technical documentation and personnel training;
• Spare parts for MIM-23 HAWK missiles and their repair;
• Other related logistics and program support elements.

The potential sale of Bradley infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, along with their maintenance, repair, overhaul, and associated equipment, is estimated at approximately $150 million.

It is noted that the proposed sale of equipment and systems will enhance Ukraine’s ability to counter current and future threats, further equipping the country to carry out self-defense missions and regional security operations.
