The Security Service of Ukraine has eliminated FSS agents involved in the murder of a colonel in Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine has eliminated Russian FSS agents involved in the murder of Colonel Ivan Voronych.

This was reported on the SSU’s official website.

As a result of covert investigative and counterintelligence measures, SSU and National Police officers established the whereabouts of the suspects in the Kyiv region.

On the morning of July 12, the Security Service carried out a raid, during which the perpetrators offered armed resistance and were eliminated in a shootout.

“The only prospect for the enemy on our territory is death,” Vasyl Malyuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine, emphasized.

According to him, an agent-combat group was sent to Ukraine in advance to carry out the murder that took place on July 10 in the capital’s Holosiivskyi district.

At around 9–10 a.m., SSU Colonel Ivan Voronych was killed near his home. The investigation established that the shots were fired from a pistol with a silencer in a parking lot near his home.

According to the investigation, the crime was committed by a man and a woman under the direction of an FSS handler who gave them the coordinates of the hideout with the weapons.

After the murder, the killers tried to “lay low” and hid in the Kyiv region. Thanks to quick action by law enforcement, they were able to find out exactly where they were.

Malyuk also emphasized that the SSU acts proactively—according to his estimates, the special service prevents approximately 85% of crimes planned against Ukraine by Russian forces.

The case of the intentional murder of a law enforcement officer is being investigated under the procedural control of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Militarnyi previously reported that law enforcement officers detained a Russian special services agent who attempted to blow up a National Guard soldier in Kyiv by luring him to a “date with a girl.”

According to law enforcement officials, the suspect was ordered by the enemy to carry out a series of terrorist attacks in the northern regions of Ukraine. One of his tasks was to eliminate a National Guard serviceman in Kyiv.
