Quantum Systems Becomes Strategic Investor in Ukraine’s Company Frontline

Ukrainian defense tech company Frontline has finalized a strategic investment agreement with German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems, marking a significant milestone in their growing partnership.

Frontline’s press service confirmed the news to Militarnyi.

This agreement marks a new chapter in the collaboration between the two companies, building on a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership signed in April 2025. Both Frontline and Quantum Systems are active participants in Ukraine’s Brave1 defense innovation cluster, which fosters cutting-edge solutions for the country’s defense needs.

Under the agreement, Quantum Systems will acquire a 10% stake in Frontline, with the option to increase it to 25% within the next 12 months.

“This investment lays the foundation for deeper manufacturing, technological, and strategic cooperation. One of the key priorities is scaling up production in Ukraine and strengthening integration with the European defense ecosystem,” the Ukrainian company stated.

As part of the partnership, Frontline has already started integrating European components into its robotic systems, significantly enhancing their effectiveness on the frontline.

“Ukraine needs not only high-quality defense products but also modern manufacturing capabilities. Quantum Systems and Frontline are committed to delivering both, and our deepening cooperation is a clear testament to that. We are proud to be the first to establish a joint European-Ukrainian defense production effort,” Florian Seibel, co-founder of Quantum Systems, stated.

The investment agreement follows the completion of a seed funding round in which Frontline raised $800,000 from both Ukrainian and international investors.

The funds will be directed toward scaling up production capacity and advancing critical defense technologies.

Primarily, the funding will support the production of Linza drones and Zoom reconnaissance UAVs, developed as part of a program to replace the Chinese-made Mavic quadcopters, as well as the Buria grenade-launching turret.

All of Frontline’s products are officially codified and actively used by Ukrainian defenders in combat operations.

“Having Quantum Systems as a strategic investor is a major milestone in Frontline’s continued development. Our partnership goes far beyond the investment itself — it’s built on a shared commitment to scaling technologies that have been proven in real combat conditions and integrating them into advanced solutions for robotic defense and assault,” Frontline CEO Yevhen Tretiak noted.
