Israel Agrees to Ceasefire with Iran

Israel has agreed to a bilateral ceasefire with Iran following a proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this during a government meeting, according to the Cabinet press service.

He stated that Israel has accomplished “all its objectives” in Operation Rising Lion against Iran, including neutralizing the threat posed by its nuclear and missile programs.

Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces have achieved “full control” over Tehran’s airspace, dealt significant damage to the military leadership, and destroyed dozens of targets in Iran, Netanyahu said.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s office added that Israel will respond decisively to any violation of the ceasefire by Iran.

Previously, Iran’s state television reported the start of a ceasefire in the conflict with Israel on the morning of June 24, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Just a few hours before, President Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a complete and comprehensive ceasefire.

According to media reports, the agreement was reached through mediation by Qatar, which conveyed the American proposal for a ceasefire to Iran.

Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13.

On the night of June 22, the United States carried out a coordinated strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, justifying the action by the threat posed by Tehran’s nuclear weapons development.

Six B-2 strategic bombers were involved in the strike on Fordow, while a single bomber targeted the Natanz facility. Additionally, submarines participated in the attacks on Natanz and Isfahan, launching 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles.

In response, on the evening of June 23, Iran launched ballistic missiles at the U.S. airbase Al-Udeid in Qatar. The missiles were intercepted.
