The strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Kremniy El microelectronics factory in Bryansk.
The Russian resource Shot reported on this.
According to eyewitnesses, between 10 and 15 explosions were recorded near the Kremniy El production facility, which manufactures microelectronics for Russia’s defense industry.
Meanwhile, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andrii Kovalenko, confirmed on his Telegram page that the Kremniy El factory had been attacked.
In Bryansk, the Kremniy El factory was once again attacked by unknown drones,” he wrote.
The facility is one of the largest microelectronics manufacturers in Russia, used in missile systems such as the S-300/400, as well as in drones of various types, and has received significant investments from the Russian government.
Thanks to video footage from local residents, the location of the shooting was geolocated at coordinates 53.251918871198384, 34.333547882485014, and the site of the fire caused by the attack was identified.
The facility has been repeatedly attacked by the drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The first strike on the facility took place on August 30, 2023. After that, the facility was attacked three more times in 2023, specifically on September 7, September 8, and December 30.
The facility was also attacked in October 2024, when a major fire broke out on its premises.
It should be noted that the factory is located 110 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
The Kremniy El facility is the second-largest microelectronics manufacturer in Russia. The Russian Ministry of Defense receives about 90 percent of all the products manufactured by the facility.
The microelectronics produced by this company is used in a wide range of chips that are installed on modern Russian weaponry.
It is known that the products had been used in strategic Russian programs for the development of radar stations using AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Arrays).
It is reported that the company’s trade volume in 2021 had reached RUB 3.9 billion.
