Drone Strike Sparks Fire at Oil Depot in Feodosia

In Feodosia, in temporarily occupied Crimea, an oil depot supplying fuel to the Russian army caught fire overnight on April 8.

According to Crimean Wind and Exilenova+ monitoring channels, the Ukrainian drones targeted the Marine Oil Terminal, a key facility for transferring petroleum products on the peninsula.

According to reports, the strike on the fuel storage tanks occurred after 1 a.m.

The intense blaze lit up the night sky, and eyewitnesses could see the glow from more than 20 kilometers away from the oil depot.

Fires in the area of the facility were also detected by satellites from NASA’s FIRMS service.

Local public pages reported that railway crossings in the area of the oil depot were closed—on Kerch Highway as well as on Fedko Street.

The Feodosia terminal plays an important role in supplying fuel to Russian occupation forces, particularly on the southern front. For this reason, it was repeatedly targeted by Ukraine’s Defense Forces throughout 2025.

During an attack on October 13, a drone strike on the storage tanks caused a large-scale fire that was visible from a considerable distance from the terminal.

The oil depot also sustained significant damage during an attack on October 6, when firefighters struggled for several days to bring the blaze under control.

This series of strikes resulted in the complete destruction of 11 storage tanks, while several others sustained significant damage. At the same time, 7 tanks remained intact out of a total of 43 on the oil depot’s territory.

Before the systematic Ukrainian strikes, the storage capacity of JSC “Marine Oil Terminal” amounted to 250,000 cubic meters. In temporarily occupied Crimea, only two such facilities operate – the other is located in Sevastopol.
