DIU Airlifts Assault Troops into Enemy Rear in Kharkiv Region
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) conducted a heliborne operation in the Kharkiv region aimed at dislodging invasion forces.
The DIU’s press service reported the operation and released a video on its official Telegram channel.
Among the aircraft used to deploy Ukrainian troops, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was identified—its operational use had been previously reported.
The video features exclusive footage from the soldiers of the DIU’s Timur special unit, operating in the Kupiansk sector of the front.
The exact timing of the landing operation is not disclosed. It is noted only that it was part of a broader spring campaign aimed at thwarting Russian invaders’ attempts to cross the Oskil River and expand their foothold on its western bank.
It was reported that Ukrainian military intelligence special forces destroyed or damaged approximately 600 enemy underground shelters, nine field ammunition depots, and eight river crossings.
Among the enemy equipment eliminated were 49 howitzers and artillery guns, 17 vehicles and motorcycles, three boats, two artillery systems, and two tanks.
“The losses inflicted on the Russian forces amount to 439 military personnel killed and wounded. Six invaders were taken prisoner,” the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported.
In its video, the DIU showcased:
- an airborne landing, assault, and clearing of enemy positions;
- footage from artillery and mortar units;
- elimination of Russian invaders by FPV drone operators;
- episodes of sabotage operations behind enemy lines: ambushes, destruction, and capture of personnel for exchange;
- the work of drivers and combat medics in the ‘red zone.’
Soldiers from the Yunger, Russian Volunteer Corps, Bratstvo, Nobody, Stuhna, Khimera, Paragon, Belarusian Volunteer Corps, Siberian Battalion, Aratta, 1514, Art Division, First Line, and Raven Group units, all of which are part of the DIU’s Timur Special Unit, perform this complex operation.
Recently, external drone operators from the active combat UAV unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine intercepted a Russian train carrying fuel for military equipment.
The fuel-carrying rail convoy was destroyed in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region’s territory, on the railway section between Verkhnii Tokmak, Molochansk, and Fedorivka.
