151st Brigade Destroyed Russian Tyulpan Self-propelled Mortar
Operators from the Northern Eagle Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 151st Mechanized Brigade destroyed a Russian 2S4 Tyulpan self-propelled heavy mortar.
The brigade’s press service reported this and posted a video of the incident on its social media accounts.
The footage shows the destruction of the artillery system, which was located in a fortified caponier with a wooden roof. A fire broke out at the position after FPV drones struck the mortar, which was protected by an anti-drone net.
The 2S4 Tyulpan is a Soviet 240mm self-propelled heavy mortar. The system is designed to destroy fortified structures, infrastructure targets, and armored vehicles.
It is the heaviest mass-produced mortar in the world, capable of firing standard 130-kg high-explosive shells up to 9.6 km and rocket-assisted munitions up to 19.6 km.
As a reminder, in early August, operators from the 151st Mechanized Brigade destroyed a Russian 2S44 Giatsint-K wheeled self-propelled artillery system in the Kupiansk area.
The new Russian 152 mm artillery system is built on a BAZ-6910-027 four-axle wheeled chassis with an 8×8 wheel configuration.
